Itinerary:
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat
This will be an 8 day from Casablanca to the Desert. Depart Casablanca airport, visit Hassan II Mosque. Departure for Rabat. Tour of the city of Rabat and monuments: the Oudaias Alcazaba, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan Tower. Accommodation in Riad/Hotel
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Fez
On the way to Meknes, the Mamora forest is bypassed. Arrival in Meknes, a city that reached its peak thanks to Sultan Moulay Ismail. 27 km from Meknes are the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis. We continue our 8-day tour from Casablanca to the Desert to visit the holy city of Moulay Idriss. Continue to Fez.
Day 3: Fez city tour
A full day dedicated to discovering the intellectual city of the kingdom. Many monuments to visit: Medersas (Koranic schools), Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque (the world’s first university).
Day 4: Fez – Merzouga
We start our 8 day from Casablanca to the Desert with breakfast and then depart for the Middle Atlas Mountains. A brief stop in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. Continue on to Azrou National Park, home to the cedar forest with its peculiar inhabitant, the friendly monkeys.
On to Midelt for lunch, this town is impressive for its 1488-meter-high mountains, and Erfoud for the 4×4 drive straight to the paradise of Merzouga, where the endless desert dunes of Erg Chebbi meet. Time to rest at the hotel after the camel ride and watch the sunset. In the evening, a walk through the dunes until dinner in typical nomad tents.
Day 5: Merzouga – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we head to Rissani and Erfoud to visit the fossilized marble factory before driving to the Jorf palm grove located on the right bank of the River Ziz. We then continue our 8-day Casablanca to the Desert tour to the Ksar de Touroug, framed by a spectacular oasis.
We then pass through Tinjdad before arriving in Tinghir. After the meal, we will hike along the Todra. Continue on through the beautiful Boumalne Dades valley to visit Kelaa Magouna, Valley of the Roses, in full bloom during the month of May. Arrival in Ouarzazate, possibility of visiting the Kasbah of Taourirt, which was the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Marrakech
We’ll head to Marrakech via Tizi-N-Tichka (2260m), the “neck of the pasture”. The incline is via a specially curved road that offers a spectacular panorama with many colors on the Haouz plain. Arrival in Marrakech.
Day 7: Marrakech city tour
This city gave its name to Morocco. It straddles the Atlas Mountains and is expected to be covered in majestic snow all year round. Its destiny is linked to the various successive dynasties and its tradition as a political, economic and cultural metropolis. It has always dominated Maghreb history.
Marrakech is also a show city, where there are permanent festivities, as seen in the famous Jamaa el Fna, which for several centuries has been the most incredible world of popular theater: snake charmers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, soothsayers, actors, fortune tellers … in Marrakech there are countless places to visit, for example, Medersa Ben Yussef, the Menara, the Dar Si Said Museum, the Agdal garden, the Tombs of the Saadians, the Majorel garden.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport
On the last day, tourists have the option of being accompanied by Marrakech Dreams Travel guides, or depending on the time of departure, of being accompanied to the airport. This concludes our 8 day from Casablanca.
