5 Days Tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

This will be a 5 Days Tour Marrakech in the morning towards the Dades Gorges. On the way, first passing through the High Atlas Mountains, you will then see the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the numerous encampments of the nomadic Berber peoples who inhabit the area.

The tour now continues along the Ouarzazate route, crossing the Valley of the Roses and arriving at the Dades gorges, where the so-called “route of a thousand kasbahs” begins.

Accommodation in Dades Valley and dinner at the hotel/Riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara

We start our 5-day tour from Marrakech to the Desert with breakfast at the hotel. The tour begins at the Todra Gorges. This place offers a pleasant walk between its impressive canyon walls over 200 meters high, to the exit to the desert through the palm grove of Tafilalet.

Arrive at the hotel at the foot of the dunes, where you can take a relaxing walk, enjoy the fine sands of Erg Chebbi and take in the impressive scenery. In the evening, you can enjoy a delicious Moroccan meal and settle into a room at the spectacular hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi tour – Merzouga:

After an abundant Moroccan breakfast, you will be taken in the 4×4 to begin the tour of the Erg Chebbi dunes, a desert region populated by sand, this among the numerous stops that await you. We continue our 5-day tour from Marrakech to the Desert, where you can discover how and where nomadic desert families live, wild oases in the middle of nowhere, spectacular landscapes and small desert villages, as well as beautiful palm trees… This is an inevitable stop on the way to the town of Khamlia. There are people from Mali here who put on a good show of Gnawa music for the tourists, while they enjoy a delicious tea.

On the way back to the hotel, the dromedaries are waiting to set off on a one-and-a-half hour route through the dunes until they reach the heart of the desert to watch the beautiful sunset, where everyone takes shelter in the Great Dune while enjoying music, drums, dinner and Moroccan tea. Everyone can gaze at the immense sky of stars and sleep in nomadic tents.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Ait Ben Haddou:

This morning, after waking up, tourists can watch the spectacular sunrise over the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara and return to the hotel with the dromedaries.

After enjoying the spectacular sunrise and returning to the hotel, we will have breakfast and prepare to start the trip to Rissani. This route is known as the most authentic and traditional souk in Morocco, and the largest in the south of the country. It sells all kinds of handicrafts, food and animals.

We continue our 5-day tour from Marrakech to the Desert until we reach Ouarzazate. This route takes in the beauty of the Draa Valley and its thousands of palm trees. Arrival at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou in the evening and dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech:

After breakfast, a visit to the fabulous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. It is famous for being the setting for more than twenty films such as “Babel”. You can follow the track that leads to one of the best kasbahs in the country, Telouet. It is possible to visit the interior.

On the way back to Marrakech, you can admire the beautiful mountain path full of villages inhabited by Berbers. When you arrive in Marrakech, that’s the end of our 5 Days Tour Marrakech.
