Immerse yourself in the magic of Marrakech and southern Berber Morocco with this incredible 7-day tour in modern 4×4 jeeps from Marrakech to the beautiful Kasbahs, the Dades and Todra Gorges, and the Unesco World Heritage Site fortress of Ait Benhaddou, to the mysterious Erg Chebbi desert with its magnificent golden dunes.
Itinerary:
Day 1 : Arrival at Marrakech
On the 7 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech. Arrive in Marrakech and meet at Menara airport depending on the arrival of your flight (flight to be paid by the client) with our staff for transfer to the scheduled riad. Accommodation in riad inside the medina and free time in Marrakech. Free dinner and overnight stay in riad.
Day 2 : Marrakech
Breakfast in riad and then depart for a few hours of sightseeing accompanied by an official Italian-speaking city tour guide. Marrakech is nicknamed “The Pearl of the South” and was founded in the 12th century by the Almoravid dynasty. Morocco’s founders left remarkable palaces and gardens. We will visit the beautiful Majorelle gardens of Yves Saint Laurent and the Menara, then visit the Saadian Tombs, the Koutubia gardens, the Museum of Moroccan Art, and the Bahia Palace. We will then stop at a restaurant inside the medina for lunch. Continue with a tour of the souks and walk through the city’s alleys, where the scenery is fascinating. Finally visit the famous Djemaa El Fna square where the show is permanent and a UNESCO heritage site for its street performers (snake charmers, storytellers, fire eaters). Free dinner and overnight stay in riad.
Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhadou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Agdz
After breakfast departure for Ouarzazate via the high Atlas Mountains over the Col du Tichka pass (2260 meters), from where you can admire the spectacular High Atlas landscapes.
Visit the Telouet kasbah, two majestic kasbahs built by a Pasha in the 12th century.
We will then stop for lunch at a roadside restaurant.
Then visit to the stunning Ksar of Ait Benhaddhou, a splendid sand castle nestled as if by magic in a field of almond trees; so beautiful with its play of light that it became the setting for many famous films such as “Lawrence of Arabia” and “A Tea in the Desert.” Kasbah of such pride that it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the only kasbah that shows the architecture of southern Morocco intact. Continue along the beautiful Draa valley with its immense palm grove to Agdz. Accommodation in riad. Dinner and overnight stay in riad.

Day 4: Agdz – Ksar Tamnougalt – Ncob – Tazarine – Rissani – Merzouga
Following breakfast visit the ancient fortified village of Tamnougalt, where The English Patient was also filmed. The Agdz – Rissani road passes through numerous Berber villages including Ncob and Tazarine. Stop in Rissani for lunch at a restaurant. Then visit the bustling local market and the Moulay Ali Sherif mosque. Then continue to Merzouga, at the gateway to the Erg Chebbi desert, d
where you will find your dromedaries and set off on a camel trek over the beautiful golden dunes of about an hour to watch the sunset (alternatively you can take a walk over the dunes). Then settle in a Berber-style tented camp at the beginning of the dunes. You will appreciate the sheer beauty of the landscape on an unforgettable evening under a starry sky in front of a beautiful bonfire where Berber drums will be played. (The camp is equipped with private tents furnished with beds with mattresses and clean sheets and blankets, a tent with toilets and another tent restaurant.) Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
Day 5: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
After admiring a beautiful sunrise over the dunes return to Merzouga by dromedary or jeep and free time for breakfast and a shower. Then departure for Erfoud where we will see the fossil processing in which the area is rich.
Continuation to the Todra Gorges, in a wild setting populated with Berber villages and oases. Visit the Todra Gorges carved into the mountains and up to 200 meters deep. We will then stop for lunch at a roadside restaurant.
Then continue on to the Dades Valley. Accommodation in riad. Dinner and overnight stay in the riad.
Overnight stay in Boumalne du Dades in riad. Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 6: Dades Gorge – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Kasbah Taurirt – Marrakech
After breakfast visit the beautiful Dades Gorges with interesting canyons and rock formations and then proceed towards Marrakech through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate. Here visit the famous Taurirt kasbah, once the home of the Pachas and if desired visit the famous film studios. We will then stop for lunch at a restaurant along the way.
Then departure for Marrakech where we will arrive late afternoon. Accommodation in riad inside the medina. Free dinner and overnight stay in the riad.
Day 7: Marrakech airport
After breakfast depending on flight schedule cumulative transfers to airport for return flight. End of our 7 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech.
