With this 5 Days Desert Tour from Fes through the desert, you’ll see so many incredible sites in such a short period of time. The trip starts in Fez. First we’ll visit Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco, and the cedar forest. A lunch break in Medalt, followed by a drive along the magnificent River Ziz. Eventually we’ll reach the region of Merzouga, in the Sahara desert. In the heart of the desert, where you can ride camels, there is a magnificent tent where you can spend the night. Also, enjoy the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets in the desert. You will also visit the historic market of Rissani and the fossil-rich city of Erfoud. Next, you’ll explore the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley and the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Finally, we’ll cross the Tizi-n-Tichka gorge and the High Atlas Mountains. The 5 Days Desert Tour from Fes.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Fes

Welcome by one of our representatives at Fes Airport. Transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to the hotel/Riad.

Overnight in Fes

Day 2: Fes – City Tour

After breakfast, the day will be dedicated to the 5 Days Desert Tour from Fes, discovery of Fes, the oldest of the imperial cities and old towns, founded by Idriss II, the center of irradiation of Arab-Muslim culture: the Andalusian Mosque, tanneries, the pottery district, and the Medina. Lunch in a palace in the Medina. Then we continue our visit to the Spanish-Arab buildings, the Medersas, and Najjarine. Dinner and overnight in Fez

Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Start the day with breakfast and then set off for the Middle Atlas Mountains. A brief stop in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. Continue on to Azrou National Park, home to the cedar forest with its peculiar inhabitant, the friendly monkeys. On to Midelt for lunch, this town is impressive for its 1488-meter-high mountains, and Erfoud for the 4×4 drive straight to the paradise of Merzouga, where you’ll find the endless desert dunes of Erg Chebbi.

We continue our 5 Days Desert Tour from Fes, now to the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi. Time to rest at the hotel after the camel ride and watch the sunset. In the evening, a walk through the dunes until dinner in typical nomad tents.

Day 4: Merzouga – Toudra Gorges – Dades Valley

Breakfast. Continue to Rissani and Erfoud to visit the fossilized marble factory before heading to the palm groves of Tinjdad Touroug. You arrive at one of the strong points of the south: GorgesTodra. The Todra Gorge has formed some terrifying and beautiful vertical walls; it’s a climber’s paradise, a unique place. Everyone has lunch there and then you’ll have half an hour’s walk to see the Gorges. In the afternoon you continue on to the Dades Valley. Arrival at the Dades gorges.

Dinner and hotel accommodation.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

We’ll start our 5 Days Desert Tour from Fes with breakfast and drive along a road full of kasbahs, all different. After several stops to enjoy the scenery, we’ll set off on the route of the Thousand Kasbahs, the Valley of the Roses and the palm grove of Skoura. Arrive in Ouarzazate and visit the Taourirt kasbah. This used to be the residence of Glaoui or the pasha of Marrakech. Lunch will be served on site. Leave the Tizi-N-Tichka mountain with stops to enjoy the spectacular views. Arrival in Marrakech. Transfer to the hotel and end of the trip.

Day 6: Marrakech Airport

Excellent experience

A sensational experience. The journey from Marrakech to Zagora is incredible, going up and down the Atlas mountain range and passing through several interesting towns and villages. The guide and driver Rachid is super polite and attentive. Stunning scenery. And the experience of sleeping in a camp in the desert was wonderful, especially the starry sky and the light at dusk and in the morning. The only things that need to be improved are the quality of the food served at the camp and the bathing facilities.
